AAPL Holders over the years

Apple’s recent ascent past the $500 billion valuation level got me interested in 13f holders of the stock over the years.  Let’s run a few queries and see whose profited from the stock.

Whalewisdom’s 13f database goes back to the March 2011 quarter.  From March 31, 2001 to Dec. 31, 2012 there have been 44 13f filing quarters.  37 filers held Apple for all 44 quarters.  Most are obviously the large institutional investors.

SAC Capital just released new 13G’s disclosing 4,415,392 shares owned in Amarin (AMRN) and 2,804,400 shares in Hyatt Hotels (H).  SAC Capital’s Amarin holdings now account for a 4% stake and is an increase of 1,975,843 shares from their 13F reported holdings on 12/31/2011.

The position in Hyatt is new and represents a 6.2% stake.  SAC last held shares in Hyatt at the end of the 9/30/2011 quarter.
